Local Support Groups
One of the best ways to cope with Tourette's is to meet others living with the same condition and the same challenges.
From experience we have seen how something as simple as a five minute chat, or a five minute play can help make us feel less isolated, however we recognise that Scotland is so vast that it's often difficult to gather everyone who needs us in the one place. That's why we've set up some 'local groups' in various areas.
We've managed to get most of our groups back to meeting in person but we recognise that not everyone can get to our meetings so we will continue to run an online group once a month.
We haven't quite managed to cover the whole country yet but we hope to open more groups in the future. If anyone is interested in starting a group then please get in touch - our groups are currently run by our committee members but there just aren't enough of us to go around!
This is our online group for parents and carers. It runs monthly on the 2nd Friday of each month.
We've now started an online group for adults with Tourette's. It runs on the 3rd Tuesday of each month.
Our Fife group is being held online for the time being as part of our virtual support group on the 2nd Thursday of each month.
Our Lothians group meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month in Uphall.
Our Perth group is being held online for the time being as part of our virtual support group on the 2nd Thursday of each month.
Our Grampian group is held in Inverurie on the 3rd Friday of each month.
West of Scotland Group
Our West of Scotland group meets on the 2nd Wednesday of each month in Irvine. We hope to add another in the West soon.
Our Borders group is not currently being held in person, however anyone in the Borders area is very welcome to attend any of our online groups.
Virtual Support Group
We hold an online support group each month for those unable to reach one of our in person meetings, or for those who just prefer a virtual chat. It's currently held on the 2nd Thursday of the month over Zoom.
