West of Scotland
The West of Scotland group has been established since June 2008. Debbie Barnett, a mum of two girls with Tourette Syndrome (TS) is the co-ordinator of the group. They have held 6 meetings in Glasgow with people living with TS.
These meetings have been a chance to speak with other people affected by TS in a friendly, non judgemental and comfortable environment to share information/ideas, give mutual support, plan local events and raise awareness of TS in the area.
After a fundraising effort including some of our members and their families completing a sponsored West Highland Way walk in August and the Loch Ness 10K the group were able to organise a subsidised visit to XScape, Braehead, Glasgow for a family day in October 2008. A number of people also met in December at TGI Friday's for a meal.
