The Highland Group of Tourette Scotland

The Highland Group will be meeting this coming Sunday (1st November 2015), at The Rollerbowl, Inverness, at 2pm.  All welcome, to come along and meet new friends, and catch up with old ones.  As well as having fun, they will be discussing Christmas activities and arrangements, and also their ever-popular Summer 2016 weekend.  Clare & Jocelyn would love to see you, and you would be made very welcome to the group.

The Hay family from the Highland group recently raised £460 for their group by taking part in a sponsored walk.  Well done to them!!

The next Highland Support Group meeting will be on Sunday 21st April 2013, at The Black Isle Wildlife Park, Inverness.  Meeting at 1pm - please bring a picnic.

Meet the Tourette Scotland Highland Group.

The Group has just been away for the weekend together and had a wonderful time, children and adults alike.  They have already decided to book again for next year.  They had a full weekend including:  railway up the Cairngorm, visit to Wildlife Park, BBQ, walking, fishing, and finished off with a visit to Landmark.

The Highland Group of Tourette Scotland currently has 10 children and 10 adults who meet monthly in the Inverness area.  In the winter they gather at Roller Bowl where it is so noisy and busy that no one notices any unusual behaviour, and during the summer months they enjoy visits to Landmark and the Black Isle Wild Life Park.  The children have a great time playing with each other while the parents have a chat over coffee.  They have had one adults meeting where they went out for a Pub meal and are currently planning another meal in late November.  They advertise themselves as widely as possible and a contact card is given out by schools in Ross-shire to all newly diagnosed children.  They also have a poster up in the Inverness Childrens' Services building where Child Psychiatry and Psychology are based.  They would love to welcome new members as they have all found there is a benefit to having a chat with other parents, and support when needed.

Highland TS Group Christmas Party 2011

An update from Jocelyn about two recent events.

The parents evening Christmas meal went fabulously well (as was expected).  It was good for everyone to unwind, have a lovely time, and discuss further aims of the group.  Lots of future plans to think about and all being well, will be busy next year.

The childrens' christmas party also went well.  All the children who attended were given a small gift and selection box from the group.  They all enjoyed cake and crackers after their meal and the staff at the centre commented on how well-behaved they all were.

The next meeting has been booked for January- contact the office on 01738 646742 for details.
